Each chapter includes a short quiz, with a final assessment at the end of the course. Successful completion earns a certificate in “Discovering UAE: A Cultural Induction For F&B Freshmen.”

Course Curriculum

3 Chapters

Chapter 1 - Introduction to the United Arab Emirates

Covers the UAE’s geography, leadership, economy, and culture. Explains its history from pearl diving and trade to oil discovery and innovation, along with local traditions, heritage, and values.

Chapter 2 - Things to Consider as an Expat in the UAE

Guides expats on language use, etiquette, greetings, halal and haram practices, local laws, emergency services, and how to build community networks.

Chapter 3 - Everyday Life in the UAE

Explores daily living aspects such as cost of living, life for foreign women, popular attractions, and insights into the unique character of each emirate.
