Food Allergen Awareness For Restaurants UK
About This Course
Food allergies are a serious safety issue in hospitality. Every team member must understand how to identify allergens, prevent cross-contamination, and respond to allergen-related requests with accuracy and care. This course gives restaurant staff the practical knowledge and legal awareness needed to keep guests safe and protect the business from risk.
This course has been independently assured by RoSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) for quality and content in line with UK safety standards.
In this course, you will learn:
• What food allergies and intolerances are, and how they differ
• The 14 main allergens and where they’re most commonly found
• Food labelling laws, including Natasha’s Law and PPDS requirements
• How to prevent cross-contact during storage, prep, and service
• Your responsibilities under UK food safety law
• How to respond to allergic reactions and follow emergency protocols
Each chapter includes a short quiz, with a final assessment at the end of the course. Successful completion earns a RoSPA-assured certificate in “Food Allergen Awareness For Restaurants.”
This course is not a formal RQF food safety & hygiene qualification. The levels indicate the type of course so that businesses can choose whom it is suitable for.
